Autumn 2021 - Week 10
TWO MORE DAYS. I'm just so tired. But almost done! And then it'll be Christmas, which I am decidedly not ready for, sigh. I'm thinking a Penningtons gift card for my mom (I hate giving gift cards, but I want to get her new bras because she needs them and that's the sort of thing you kinda gotta shop for yourself), and for my brother ???????? I just want all the actual holiday stuff to be over so I can just enjoy the Christmas vibes and hang out with my family and go see a new Matrix movie (DON'T YOU FUCK THIS FOR ME, OMICRON. I'M WATCHING YOU, DON'T YOU DO IT.) 2022 cannot come soon enough.
Can't decide what want lunch. That is probably a sign that I should just be good and frugal and go with my shitty microwave noodles after indulging for five days straight. OR I COULD ORDER PANCAKES???

FILMS
Don't Look Up (2021): We, as a society, have moved past satire, unfortunately. McKay's schtick remains eminently watchable.
GoldenEye (1995): I think that if I could choose one more old Bond movie to get to see in a theater, this would be my second pick after OHMSS. It just punches you in the face with the '90s and it rules so hard. THE BAD GUYS ARE HACKERZ AND M'S A WOMAN WHOOAAAAA!!!! THIS ISN'T YOUR DAD'S JAMES BOND ANYMORE!!
Licence to Kill (1989): The older I get, the more the Dalton films start feeling like a refreshing chance to relax after cringing through the worst excesses of the Moore era. Just a real breath of fresh air after... all that.
The Living Daylights (1987): Low key one of my all-time favourite themes. Just peak '80s nonsense, even if it's also missing Lois Maxwell hours. No other Moneypenny until Naomie Harris could hold a candle.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021): Oh wow, that was a lot, huh?
A View to a Kill (1985): SPEAKING OF THE WORST EXCESSES OF THE MOORE ERA, I actually genuinely love this movie, it's so goddamn ridiculous. At least the old man went out on a high note (because he fought on a blimp).

The Ghost Moo (2021): Really cute little thing from a first-time animator. Also my name is in the credits, so that's fun! I want a plush ghost moo now.
Holidaze, 1994 (1994): Looks like a gen Z kid's dumb '90s VHS ~a~e~s~t~h~e~t~i~c~ fancam, turns out shit really was just that ugly back in the day!
Sissy-Boy Slap-Party (2004): "You got your wrestling in my Canadian arthouse!" "You got your Canadian arthouse in my wrestling!" I GUESS KENNY OMEGA WAS IN A GUY MADDIN SHORT ABOUT SAILORS HAVING A SLAP ORGY??? Two great tastes that taste great together, truly.
TELEVISION
Hawkeye 1x05: Oh my god, Yelena is everything. If this doesn't get a season 2 and it isn't her and Kate having adventures as the next gen Black Widow and Hawkeye, then what is the point of ANYTHING. ps NETFLIX MARVEL LIVES!!!
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia 15x05/15x06: COLM MEANEY;LADKJSF;ADKLSJFA I CAN'T. Also, Dennis trying to suppress his covid coughs in the realtor's office made me cry laughing, fuck.
Katy Keene 1x06/1x07: Seriously, holy shit, these people SUCK, that ridiculous musical episode has me YEARNING to get back to Riverdale and all its nonsense. Jorge in particular is just the most self-centered, narcissistic piece of shit, but I do enjoy how he ultimately fails in all of his showbiz endeavours because everyone who sees him agrees that he thinks he's a LOT better than he actually is, so that's nice. Oh, Pepper's horrible, too. And making the Cabot siblings into exes was, uh... a choice. Guess it's not the Archieverse without SOME weird pseudo-incest. K.O. DESERVES BETTER THAN KATY ANYWAY, RUN FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AND NEVER LOOK BACK, MY GUY.
