[0012] what a long, strange trip it's been
My god, where did the weekend go? Just kinda... melted away from me. Still, I'm going to the movies again today, hopefully can get a good lunch in, maybe drive around and play some PoGo with my mom? There's still lots I want to get done around the house before I go back to work, but I've also got a lot of wrestling I can throw on in the background and a couple of days to spare, so it's not all hopeless yet, even if I'd rather just watch a bunch more movies.
Still, pants on two days in a row! That's a good sign, right?
Wikipedia Sez: American Beauty is the fifth studio album by rock band the Grateful Dead. Released November 1, 1970, by Warner Bros. Records, the album continued the folk rock and country music style of their previous album Workingman's Dead, issued earlier in the year. Though the Americana approach is still evident in the songwriting, comparatively the sound focused more on folk harmonies and major-key melodies, showing influence from Bob Dylan and Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young.
Prior Familiarity: Pretty much none! I was familiar with the Grateful Dead beanie bears as a child, and I am a fan of the ice cream.
What I Did While Listening: I was in a weird place last night, so I kinda just laid under a heavy blanket with all the lights on? I'm feeling better now.
Verdict: It's... fine? Some nice harmonies in there, but overall didn't do much for me. But also, weird mood, so who knows.
Favourite Song: Sugar Magnolia? Truckin', maybe? It all felt kinda samey.
