The AEW Dark card for tonight finally dropped and I'm pleased to see the super-sized format isn't going away just because they have a second show now. AEW Dark: Elevation was pretty dang good (though I suspect they went all out for the premiere and it won't be QUITE on that level going forwards) and felt a bit like a bulked up version of what Dark was before they just gave up on trying and it became two hours of Taz and Excalibur slowly going crazy in the middle of the night (which I never want to end, it's hilarious). That Riho vs. Maki Itoh main event was great, they NEED to get Maki back in the U.S. as soon as she can swing it. I'm sure a lot of people think four hours of Dark a week is content overload, because it is absolutely a LOT, but like, AEW has a massive and ever increasing roster and didn't run house shows even before the pandemic; they need to give their wrestlers time to wrestle, especially considering how green a lot of them are. These YouTube shows are pretty much the perfect format, since people can just watch what they want and ignore the rest, knowing the important stuff will always be on Dynamite. Meanwhile, the talent that needs it can take their chances to try stuff out and see what works and what doesn't without the pressure of doing it on national television. I like it!

There is now a sizable lump on my hand from when I hit the desk two days ago. I regret nothing. In less than eight hours, I will be free.

Okay, I should get back to this filing now.
