I did it again. :( It's pretty much just been this and cartoons all month so far, although I have been reading a lot.
Really hoping to get some tags out, but it has been a... lousy day. Just, all around. Blech.
A Corazon Abierto S01E02 (Colombian)
So Maria and Marco have some big argument right in front of the five-month-old newborn while Colombian Derek (his name is Andre!) skulks around and makes weird faces in their general direction, and she gives her ring back, so I think they were just engaged and not actually married.
There's something weird going on with Jorge's patient, where he keeps thinking the guy's dying but whenever someone else is around, he's totally fine. He's like the Polkaroo or something, it's pretty weird and everyone thinks Jorge's a big crazy spaz. Who remains adorable. Then there's some news report about the patient and there are reporters and military dudes everywhere and Jorge runs in and the guy's bleeding out on the floor, I HAVE NO IDEA. Jorge's all pissed because this Javier guy who I'm pretty sure is Colombian Burke wouldn't listen to him, and then he's sad because his patient is dead and they just leave him on the floor for some reason.
Cristina has her hair in two braids this episode and it just makes her look even more like Lexie Grey, IT'S SO WEIRD.
Colombian Ellis! Maria goes to visit her mom in a home, and there is Alzheimer's sadfacing. There was a scene with Maria and the Chief talking before this, too, so I think that whole backstory is probably intact. Then there's that one plot where Maria's sure there's something wrong with one of the babies, but that bitchy peds intern keeps telling her to step the fuck off but it turns out she was right.
Colombian Alex (Augusto!) totally flips the fuck out at his patient for some reason, and then he and Colombian Bailey (Carvajal, it's Carvajal, I'm pretty sure) shout at each other for a while. This whole plotline went right over my head, I have no idea what that was all about, but it was pretty intense! Then there is random crying and he's still a big dork who wears a leather jacket, but Augusto is officially growing on me.
Andre has this really weird habit of just... hanging around behind people's back when they're making impassioned speeches and making weird faces. It's such an odd choice, I don't know if it's the script or the directing or what, Mexican Derek doesn't do it, it's so strange. Whatever, he's still hot.

Still pretty much the exact same show, exact same plots, but it wasn't really annoying since I picked up on a few things I missed the first time around. Like, in the locker room scene, they seem to work out that Maria is the daughter of THE Dr. Elena Carrera. And before Maria has to remind Elena who she is, I'm pretty sure it's the Chief they're talking about. Little things! Also, Maria and Marco actually whisper their big argument instead of just shouting with a bunch of sleeping babies everywhere, so... nice touch, I guess?
Mexican Alex continues to be defined by his constant eating, at one point he just throws a half-eaten banana in his locker for later. What even. And if Colombian Cristina looks weirdly like Chyler Leigh, Mexican Cristina looks weirdly like Ashley Greene, which is just as distracting in its way.
I still have no idea what Jorge's plot here was all about, except Javier freaks out even more when he's on his own after the patient dies. Of all of them, I think Burke's the only one where I prefer the Mexican version to the Colombian version.
No cliffhanger tonight, disappointing. Maria and Andre just have some kind of argument, the end.
