[524] who put these fingerprints on my imagination?
I don't usually update on the weekends anymore, but I'm riding high on getting to see some MOVIES BUT BIG again, so why not. The Lord of the Rings extended editions marathon at Keyano was awesome, even if my knees and ass were very sore by the end of it all (I got super high for The Two Towers, which mitigated a lot of the pain on day 2, thankfully). Hopefully they get some more screenings in to continue to fill the giant hole in the community's heart left by the continued closure of the movie theatre. I feel... healed, somewhat.

Wikipedia Sez: Armed Forces is the third studio album by the English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello, released on 5 January 1979 in the United Kingdom through Radar Records. It was his second album with the Attractions—keyboardist Steve Nieve, bassist Bruce Thomas and drummer Pete Thomas (no relation)—and the first to officially credit them on the cover. The album was recorded in six weeks from August to September 1978 in London under the working title Emotional Fascism. Produced by Nick Lowe and engineered by Roger Béchirian, the sessions saw Costello exert more control over production compared to This Year's Model, while Nieve contributed more to song arrangements.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Alternative/Indie Rock, College Rock, Contemporary Pop/Rock, New Wave, Punk/New Wave, Post-Punk
Release Date: January 5th, 1979
Prior Familiarity: None, aside from the goofy cover of (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding from the American version, but also this is the fourth Elvis Costello album on this list, and two of them were from 1977 and 1978, so I kinda knew what to anticipate here.
Verdict: How much I fucking love Elvis Costello has probably been this entire project's most significant revelation. I had no clue! Every single track here is between 2 and 4 minutes long and completely rules. Goddamn.
Favourite Song: Oliver's Army, n-word and all.
Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Today's SPECIAL BONUS joshi match while I wait for my hair to dry and get settled in for Revolution in two hours is Sareee vs. Arisa Nakajima from the SEAdLINNNG 8th Anniversary show. I will probably never get into watching SEAdLINNNG very much, because that would necessitate typing SEAdLINNNG more than I currently do, but this match is baller.
Okay, time to down a couple of edibles, order Wok Box, and light candles for the Old Man Yaoi return prayer circle. I don't know what's all going to go down at Revolution tonight, but I know it'll be a ride. And then I guess I'll just watch the Oscars after work tomorrow or something???? Fuck!!!
