[486] the electric centaur, the demigod, the super driver of the golden west
The temperature dropped to near freezing overnight, SUMMER WHERE ARE YOU??? I'm right here, waiting for you! If you come here, you'll find me, I promise! Fell asleep pretty early last night due to all of the exhaustion and got a solid five hours of unconsciousness in, which is still not nearly enough, but more than usual.

Wikipedia Sez: Vanishing Point is the fifth studio album by Scottish rock band Primal Scream. It was released on 7 July 1997 in the United Kingdom by Creation Records and in the United States by Reprise Records. It peaked at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart. The album shows inspiration from genres such as dub, ambient, dance music, and krautrock, as well as bands such as Motörhead, Can, and the Stooges. It was the band's first album to feature Gary 'Mani' Mounfield on bass, formerly of the Stone Roses, although Marco Nelson played bass on "Burning Wheel", "Star", "If They Move, Kill 'Em'", and "Stuka". Other guest appearances on Vanishing Point include Augustus Pablo, Glen Matlock, and the Memphis Horns.
Genre: Pop/Rock, Electronic
Styles: Alternative Dance, Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, Dance-Rock, Trip-Hop, Electronica, Rock & Roll
Release Date: July 7th, 1997
Prior Familiarity: None!
What I Did While Listening: Messed around on my phone at the end of my sleepy, sleepy day. That beach hut is coming along nicely in Merge Mansion.
Verdict: For a band called Primal Scream, this was pretty darn chill! The instrumentations are the most interesting thing happening here, but it's a broadly pleasant listen across the board. Also, I went into it assuming the title was just because it sounded cool and then hey, actually it's all movie references all the way down here! If they move, kill 'em!
Favourite Song: As much as I loved Get Duffy prominently busting out the bass clarinet like that, obviously I have to give it to Kowalski, the song that opens by sampling the line that my email address comes from.
Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Still no new movies for the count, but I did start watching Kite Man: Hell Yeah!. 'S cute. And while I have not watched all of Summer Blockbuster yet (because four hours of wrestling on a Wednesday night is simply too much when I only have twelve hours between the end of one work day and the start of the next), I did watch enough to know that HANGMATT IS FINALLY BACK ON THE MENU, LET'S FUCKING GO.
