[481] now I float away like honey in the sun

The week off is half over, and I'm feeling like a person again! There's lots to do and lots I've already done. Mostly recently, ducked over to the movies to see the Mission: Impossible franchise off into the sunset (WHIGHAM HIVE RISE UP), and while that live action Lilo & Stitch looks like the typical Disney infinite-money glitch dreck they will keep pumping out until standards improve, gosh it's nice to see a packed cinema again. We're so back!!!

Tomorrow will be for visiting my grandmother and then getting drunk enough that I won't be able to go out and commit arson if Hangman doesn't win the Double or Nothing main event. You know, typical weekend stuff!

Wikipedia Sez: Happy Sad is the third album by American singer-songwriter Tim Buckley, released in April 1969. It was recorded at Elektra Sound Recorders in Los Angeles, California and was produced by former Lovin' Spoonful members Zal Yanovsky and, coincidentally, his subsequent replacement Jerry Yester. It marked the beginning of Buckley's experimental period, as it incorporated elements of jazz that he had never used before. Many of the songs here represent a departure from the binary form that dominated much of his previous work.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Jazz-Rock, Singer/Songwriter

Release Date: either April or July 10th, 1969 (sources differ)

Prior Familiarity: Ummmmm, I know his son?

What I Did While Listening: Kicked it after an early shower, since I was heading out later in the day. Finally put away the last of my laundry from last week; it's all VERY wrinkly!

Verdict: It's all atmosphere and no substance, just a lot of wandering around, but it's pleasant enough without overstaying its welcome, and I'm a huge sucker for an album with a ton of vibraphone.

Favourite Song: Sing a Song for You, because it's the closest thing to an actual song here.
