[467] when your world is full of strange arrangements and gravity won't pull you through
Completely wasted the day, probably because I'm going in to work tomorrow and the futility of life in general is just pressing in all around me as a result. At least at time-and-a-half, I'll be making a decent wage for a change, and we'll go see a movie afterward, so it shouldn't be too soul-crushing. It'll definitely make my next proper set that much more unbearable, however.

Wikipedia Sez: The Lexicon of Love is the debut studio album by the English pop band ABC. Released by Neutron Records on 21 June 1982, it entered the UK Albums Chart at number one, also topping the New Zealand and Finnish charts. Certified gold in the US, it went platinum in the UK where four singles reached the top 20; "Tears Are Not Enough", "Poison Arrow", "The Look of Love" and "All of My Heart", which Pitchfork ranked number one on their "Now That's What I Call New Pop!" list.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Contemporary Pop/Rock, Dance-Rock, New Romantic, New Wave, Synth Pop
Release Date: June 21st, 1982
Prior Familiarity: None, though I knew as soon as I read that list of styles that it was going to be extremely my shit.
What I Did While Listening: Unwound after a run and a shower. Fiddled with my treadmill a bit, because one side is making funny sounds. Shopped for some Pokemon cards.
Verdict: IT'S EXTREMELY MY SHIT. If there's one thing this project has taught me, it's that "New Romantic" and "Synth Pop" are secret codewords that apparently unlock the doors to my soul. This totally fucks, it's hooky and danceable and crazy dramatic, stick it straight in my veins. Had it thrown some chamber pop vibes in there, too, it would have been an instant favourite, but for now, I just need to spend a bit more time with it, I think.
Favourite Song: Theme from "Mantrap"

I should do my nails tonight. Head into the battle well-armed.
