[410] you gotta open up your mind and let everything come through
Slept late due to staying up until six in the morning finally giving Baldur's Gate 3 a shot. Had fun, but today was a bit of a wash because of it. Watched TV with my mom a bunch. Ate a very salty grilled cheese sandwich and fries. My bedroom has returned to a normal temperature, my period from hell has eased off, and the Beast Mortos is in the Continental Classic. Things are looking up.

Wikipedia Sez: The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators is the debut studio album by the 13th Floor Elevators. The album's sound, featuring elements of psychedelia, hard rock, garage rock, folk, and blues, is notable for its use of the electric jug, as featured on the band's only hit, "You're Gonna Miss Me", which reached number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Tried to Hide" as a B-side. Another single from the album, "Reverberation (Doubt)", reached number 129 on the Billboard's Bubbling Under chart.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Garage Rock, Psychedelic/Garage
Release Date: October 17th, 1966
Prior Familiarity: Minus five.
What I Did While Listening: Just kinda swayed, still a little boozy from PPV hours and feeling the night out. Should have waited until BG3 was downloading, christ that took forever.
Verdict: Everything about this, from the title to the cover art to every second of the actual music to the fact that it was recently released in a 'Quest for Pure Sanity' edition and beyond, all of it reads like a parody of '60s psychedelia.
Favourite Song: Roller Coaster, or maybe Through the Rhythm? It's honestly all very samey.
Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Currently listening to a Mr. Rogers cassette from the '80s for terminally ill children and their parents. Tough stuff, but uplifting in a way, too. I will probably hit the treadmill and then watch Survivor Series 1990 afterwards to make up for it.
