[382] will you visit me please, if I open my door?
Slowly waking myself up from a lovely evening nap, watching a Mac DeMarco concert, trying to motivate myself to put these lightbulbs in. Another lazy day, but at least I got the kitchen clean. Gonna be a busy one tomorrow, mom's got a lot of running around that she wants to get done, but there will hopefully be a new Alien movie waiting for me at the end of it.

Wikipedia Sez: The Pleasure Principle is the debut solo studio album by the English new wave musician Gary Numan, released on 7 September 1979 by Beggars Banquet Records. The album came about six months after Replicas (1979), his second and final studio album with the band Tubeway Army. The Pleasure Principle peaked at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: New Romantic, New Wave, Punk/New Wave, Synth Pop, Alternative/Indie Rock
Release Date: September 7th, 1979
Prior Familiarity: None, aside from Cars.
What I Did While Listening: Actually made a bit of progress cleaning out my email inbox. Also managed to get YNAB4 up and running on my new computer even though it hasn't been supported or available since 2019, because fuck your subscription models, just give me software I can pay for and then use forever!
Verdict: This sits right in this really interesting middle ground between the nerdy, moody, ambient electronica of the '70s and the excesses of '80s synthpop ridiculousness that I go absolutely apeshit for; a neat bridge between the two! Combines some of the best of both worlds, without ever quite approaching the heights of either, but I nevertheless enjoyed it a lot.
Favourite Song: M.E.; very few things in this world hit as hard as hearing the origin of an iconic sample for the first time.
