[364] tell her that I'm not in here, tell her I'm a freak

Lazy Sunday. Hung out with mom. Started the second Anne of Green Gables book, since that shit is wholesome as fuck. It was hot out, but juuuuuuuust smoky enough to screen out the harshest of the sun, so it was a very mellow-feeling 28 degrees. I should get myself a hammock or something.

Enjoyed MaXXXine a lot. Style over substance and vaguely incoherent in ways that are very true to the things it's paying homage to. Pearl being the middle piece in the trilogy always felt weird to me, and now it really, really doesn't, the whole thing folds in on itself nicely, and also ranking films against each other when how different they are is a big part of the point is a mug's game.

The Owen finals are set, and they are everything I could have hoped for. Less than two days until I'm off to the Stampede!

Prior Familiarity: Nope!

What I Did While Listening: Rolled around, deeply regretting how much popcorn I ate. Not enough not to do it again next time, though!

Verdict: It didn't strike me as anything very significant at first, but it grew on me more and more the longer it went on, until I ended up really, really liking it. Huh!
