[348] I'm thirty-five, we got a boy of our own now
It was so cold when I got home, still hours before sunset, that I had to turn the heat on. In fucking June. Don't worry though, somebody else made sure to turn it off at some point during the night, so I still got to wake up freezing and miserable! Phew, that was a close one!!
Ugh, I just need to make it through today.
I brought Jolly Ranchers, at least.

Wikipedia Sez: Born in the U.S.A. is the seventh studio album by the American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, released on June 4, 1984, by Columbia Records. Co-produced by Springsteen, Jon Landau, Steven Van Zandt, and Chuck Plotkin, the album was recorded in New York City with the E Street Band over two years between January 1982 and March 1984. Some of the songs originated from the same demo tape that yielded the solo effort Nebraska (1982), while others were written after that album's release. The sessions yielded between 70 and 90 songs; some were released as B-sides while others later saw release on compilation albums.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Album Rock, Contemporary Pop/Rock, Heartland Rock, Rock & Roll, Hard Rock
Release Date: June 4th, 1984
Prior Familiarity: Pretty high, for the most part!
What I Did While Listening: I... don't remember? I took a shower, and then I put it on, and...? Maybe I just fucked around on the computer/my phone? I genuinely think this week might have broken my brain a bit.
Verdict: Damn, I wasn't sure what to expect from something with so many ubiquitous hits, like, as an album experience, but this fucking kills. It's got this deeply bitter tone throughout that is so at odds with the songs being total bangers, but in a very consistent, cohesive way that really makes the whole thing feel like art? Okay, damn Boss, you got me!!
Favourite Song: Cover Me
Leshia's Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐, and I came real close to slapping down another big fat five
