[289] tout le monde tchatcho
Month-end has been survived! Shit was crazy, and everyone seems a little bit hungover today, but it's December and I now have a vacation to get ready for! Commencing my patented three-stage preparation process:
1. Today: Plan.
2. Tomorrow: Pack.
3. Sunday: Panic.
As long as work stays nice and chill for the duration, I should be okay! I brought Skittles today!

Wikipedia Sez: In February 1992, he released his ninth studio album, Haut De Gamme. The album was produced by SonoDisc and blended his Tcha Tcho, Kwassa Kwassa, and Congolese rumba. The album's lead singles, "Désespoir" and "Koweit Rive Gauches," are devoted to romantic relationships. The chart-topping single "Papa Bonheur," with its animated kwassa kwassa intro segments, catapulted him into stardom in African and European markets. In 2005, Haut De Gamme was featured in the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, the only Congolese album to achieve this milestone. (taken from Olomide's page, since the album doesn't have its own)
Genre: International
Styles: Central African, Soukous, African Traditions
Release Date: February 1992
Prior Familiarity: Obviously none!
What I Did While Listening: Notion stuff in between chapters of Nettle & Bone. I was very sleepy!
Verdict: Extremely fun to listen to, didn't leave a super strong impression beyond that. Just good ear noises! Look at the unadulterated early '90s swag of that album cover, though.
Favourite Song: Désespoir
Someone tell me not to watch the 'Broken' Edge/Christian fanvid again FIVE DAYS
