[254] we can live in the empty spaces of this life

It's almost September, and the smoke is still so thick I can't really process it? Blood-red morning suns are supposed to be an artifact of the early summer, how long will it be before we're in an era of year-round forest fire seasons? Yeesh.

The world may be burning, but yesterday was still great! Between All In and a night at the movies, it was basically a free day in the middle of my work week (I guess only working three out of my twelve hours will do that WHATEVER I PULLED OVERTIME A WEEK AGO) and it was GREAT. And now it's Monday and I've only two days left to go! Feeling good!

All In was a fantastic show aside from two genuinely nauseating outcomes, a truly infuriating lack of women's matches, and more bullshit CM Punk drama, and if I don't get around to doing a full post about it on my week off, know that I remain VERY emotional about Best Friends finally getting a big win on the biggest show of all time after all these months of eating shit (and pins). Like yeah, Eddie and Penta were also there (there's a particularly beautiful bloody portrait of Eddie taken backstage afterward, and Penta's mid-match fake-injury-into-costume-change had me cackling like a loon), but that finish was very much framed as a Best Friends win SPECIFICALLY, and I am in my feelings about it! Kris should have been there, though. ORANGE DID A TAIPEI DEATHMATCH PUNCH AT WEMBLEY STADIUM, FFS.

Wikipedia Sez: The Modern Dance is the debut album by American rock band Pere Ubu. It was released in January 1978 by record label Blank. A 5.1 surround sound version was released as the DVD-Audio side of a DualDisc in 2005.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, American Punk, American Underground, Experimental Rock, Post-Punk, Punk/New Wave

Release Date: January 1978

Prior Familiarity: Fuckin' who???

What I Did While Listening: Tried to unwind a bit in the dark before bed; something I've been toying with without actually committing to it yet is the idea of improving my sleep hygiene somewhat, but so much of the advice is impractical to the point of being completely unworkable in my life, so we'll see.

Verdict: I made a bad choice! Bad for unwinding! Lots of bad noises in my ears! Didn't totally hate it, though, kinda got better as it went along.
