[238] with a circus mind that's running 'round

Last night, after my mom and brother left for Edmonton and an early morning flight to Vancouver, I went around the house, turning off all of the many lights and fans that they keep on 24/7 all around the house otherwise, and it was. So freeing. So liberating. I am going to enjoy this weekend. And go home on my lunch breaks to take care of the cat and dog, I guess.

Also last night was the first time I can remember actually being woken up from a nightmare in a very long time! Less freeing. Less liberating.

Today's work goals are continuing to dig through my horrible email inbox backlog mountain and maybe fucking around with my Notion movie database, since I'm done all my actual work for the time being. Also asking my manager if I can take a few long lunches this weekend for pet maintenance purposes.

Wikipedia Sez: Axis: Bold as Love is the second studio album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It was first released by Track Records in the United Kingdom on December 1, 1967, only seven months after the release of the group's highly successful debut, Are You Experienced. In the United States, Reprise Records delayed the release until the following month. The album reached the top ten in the album charts in both countries.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Album Rock, Blues-Rock, Hard Rock, Psychedelic/Garage, Acid Rock

Release Date: December 1st, 1967

Prior Familiarity: None.

What I Did While Listening: Made pasta in my rented apartment and then ate it out of a Boston Pizza fishbowl, I believe, but that was during my real bad feeling day in Regina, so it kinda got lost in the Lasagna Cat fugue state of it all and I gave it a fresh listen this morning while I took care of the animals and the house and myself and whatnot. I THINK this was the last of my vacation tunes, since I mostly just read and fell back on PMJ on the subsequent train and bus rides (almost finished War and Peace finally!).

Verdict: It's pretty good! Didn't blow my butt off or anything, but yeah. Pretty good.

Favourite Song: One Rainy Wish, but that closing title track is pretty great, too.
