[200] reach out, touch faith

I did it!! The Edmonton, Regina, and Saskatoon tickets all going on sale at the same time because Saskatchewan is the one fucking province smart enough to tell daylight savings time to fuck off IS my new villain origin story, but I did it anyway!! Floor seats of varying quality for all four shows to go with the two I already had, my surprise summer tour is a go!

  • June 25th: Forbidden Door in Toronto

  • June 28th: Dynamite/Rampage in Hamilton

  • July 5th: Dynamite/Rampage in Edmonton

  • July 8th: Mystery Televised Thing in Regina

  • July 12th: Dynamite (and maybe Rampage since the Regina show got moved?) in Saskatoon

  • July 15th: House Rules in Calgary

My upcoming events page on Ticketmaster is a garden of future commitments that I will have to start planning for at some point, but for now, I RELAX. And work and stuff, I guess.

Wikipedia Sez: Violator is the seventh studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was first released on 19 March 1990 by Mute Records internationally, and by Sire and Reprise Records in the United States. Preceded by the singles "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence" (a top-10 entry in both the United Kingdom and the United States), the album propelled the band into international stardom, and also yielded the singles "Policy of Truth" and "World in My Eyes". Violator reached number two on the UK Albums Chart, and was the band's first album to chart inside the top 10 of the Billboard 200, peaking at number seven. The album was supported by the World Violation Tour.

Genre: Pop/Rock

Styles: Alternative Dance, Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, Contemporary Pop/Rock, College Rock, Dance-Rock, Punk/New Wave, Synth Pop

Prior Familiarity: Low to fair? I know the big hits, but they're still a big blind spot for me. Enjoy the Silence in particular is one of those quintessential 'oh, THIS song!'s.

What I Did While Listening: Meditated in between ticket presales.

Verdict: Quite dug this. I particularly enjoy when it gets extra synthy on the outros to songs? Lots of disparate stuff to enjoy here.

Favourite Song: Blue Dress. It's moderately skeevy, but in a low-key, fun way? The album works really well as a whole, though.

Oh shit, I'm really a fifth of the way through this bitch, huh???
