[169] your mind gets burned with the habits you've learned
Ending the year sick! Hooray! Coughing and dizzy and pushing through it anyway, because what else is there to do! I'm supposed to be at the Cross Cancer Centre in two days for mom's surgery consult! Fuck everything! Happy new year, I guess!

Wikipedia Sez: Life thru a Lens is the debut solo studio album by English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. It was Williams' first solo album following his departure from Take That. Released on 29 September 1997 through Chrysalis Records, it is influenced by Britpop, a departure from the poppier tone of music Take That employed. The album's working name was The Show-Off Must Go On.
Genre: Pop/Rock
Styles: Adult Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, Britpop, Detroit Rock, Contemporary Pop/Rock, Dance-Pop
Prior Familiarity: Low! Robbie Williams is one I'm always surprised by just how famous he is, because he came up right when I was paying attention to this stuff and yet he just never made that crossover here like a lot of his contemporaries? Take That was never a thing in Canada, either. Like, I definitely know Angels, but not this version?
What I Did While Listening: Lolled around sick at six in the morning as I slowly got ready for work anyway, because capitalism is the real plague.
Verdict: Fun! Extremely corny in places, but I would have been all over this had I heard it as a kid. Also: hilariously British, to the point where I can't tell if it's ironic or not? It opens on a song about 'having a jolly good time' and goes into a song with the line 'I'm talking football, she's talking Ab Fab' and the whole thing ends on the line 'bollocks, sir, kiss my arse', like?? I'm thinking this might be why they didn't try pushing him much over here, but idk. Still: fun!
Favourite Song: Ego a Go Go
