So I'm back at work. Such is the cycle. Home stuff has been... frustrating, of late, so maybe I'm better off here for 50% of my life for the next week, anyway.
And then that was all I wrote for the entire day because I had (have) tons of paperwork to do and the attention span of a gnat! Except now Dynamite is on, so I have to avoid Twitter and all of its spoilers until I get home and can watch it and need DISTRACTIONS. Kenny, Hangman, and the Bucks all have fights tonight, and after last week, there are all KINDS of weird dynamics at play that have me all up in my Elite feelings. The Young Bucks teaming with Brandon (the first person they've trio'd with in AEW other than Kenny), against a returning Laredo Kid with the Lucha Bros, who were the FIRST trio Kenny and the Bucks teamed against in AEW back in 2019?? Brandon, who as their childhood friend, is probably the only person in the company with anywhere near as much history with the Bucks as Kenny?? Brandon, who in the midst of his feud with Peter Avalon over the summer, got into it with Hangman over the fact that the Bucks flat-out refuse to second anyone else after all the legendary matches they seconded Kenny for back in Japan? Brandon, who the Bucks THEN CAME OUT TO SECOND after learning from the mistakes they made that killed their friendship with Hangman, leading to Brandon's long-awaited first win?? Also the Brandon/Hangman stuff was where the mystery text plot that they FINALLY just wrapped up came from in the first place, THIS SHIT IS RELEVANT.
Kenny's going to lose his goddamn mind over this. Kenny, who has severe, deeply-rooted issues with being replaced. Kenny, who just last night publicly called out his ex, the guy who is the SOURCE of all of those issues. Kenny, who is currently picking a random fight with ANOTHER half of a high-flying brother tag team named Matt. THE MAN AIN'T SUBTLE. Oh, also all this is happening on the third anniversary of Young Bucks vs. Golden Lovers HAHAHAHAHAHA LET ME DIE
Meanwhile, Hangman has managed to successfully distance himself from all this toxicity, learning to love himself and making new friends (LOOK AT HIS NEW SHIRT, MY HEART), but his upward trajectory (seen in him randomly getting a fresh match to win tonight) can only bring him back into conflict with Kenny at the top of the mountain soon enough. A reunion with the Bucks MUST come along the way, surely??? My dream is obviously the Bucks in Hangman's corner when he's the one to finally take down the monster that Kenny has become since their split, but there's gonna be so much pain along the way no matter what.
Okay, 40 minutes left before I can get the hell out of here, I can do it.
