Such interesting things! Basically, had the clock tower been Big Ben and this happened after another movie with similar character work for her, I'd be okay with it? After everything great they did with her, she deserved to die as part of her own story, not some awkward tacked-on bit of Peter's. Which just shows that, like you said, it was all almost certainly accidental. -_-
